Employment Law

Stay up to date on the latest laws and regulations

ASE provides timely updates on pending and new employment legislation, regulations, and critical judicial decisions in our weekly eNewsletter - EPTW as well as sending special legislative alerts.  In addition, ASE members have access to the CCH compliance database and an HR research hotline.

Ask the Lawyer

ASE’s new Ask the Lawyer webinar series was launched as a replacement to our Employment Law Conference.  This allows us to provide monthly programming throughout the year – keeping our members up to date as new employment law issues arise.  This new webinar series offers a 30-minute informative session followed by 30 minutes of Q/A where webinar attendees can ask the lawyer – you – all their questions on that month’s topic.

Ask the Lawyer: Immigration Implications of Working from Home

September 15, 2021
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Get all your questions answered on the compliance implications of remote work. From I-9s to H1-B audits, how should employers establish compliance in the new environment brought about by the pandemic? I-9s are still allowed to be completed remotely, but with H-1B audits ICE wants to see the workplace of the employee. Do they show up announced at the employee’s home? Can an employer prevent an employee from relocating to a higher wage area? Get answers to these questions and more during this interactive webinar featuring a 30-minute presentation followed by 30 minutes of Q &A where you can ask the lawyer anything related to immigration in a virtual world.
