Troy, MI – October 15, 2024 --- ASE, one of the nation’s oldest and largest employer associations, has released its 2025 Holiday Schedule & Practices Survey.  The annual survey of Michigan-based employers assesses an organization’s policies and practices related to holiday leave and pay practices associated with time worked during recognized holidays.

Highlights of the ASE 2025 Holiday Schedule & Practices Survey include:

  • 20% of the companies surveyed reported offering 10 paid holidays each year.  11% reported offering 11 paid holidays each year.
  • 18% of employers reported Juneteenth as a paid holiday.
  • Regarding holiday pay for employees that are part-time, data has shifted slightly since last year. 25% of employers reported that part-time employees are given the time off with pro-rated pay (up three percentage points from last year) and the number of employers excluding part-timers from any holiday pay has dropped two percentage points to 39% compared to last year.
  • Similar to last year, 69% of employers plan on having an in-person holiday party at the end of the year.

Mary E. Corrado, ASE President & CEO, announced the results, noting, “Benchmarking holiday offerings is essential for employers who want to stay competitive in today's talent-driven market. As the workforce increasingly values work-life balance, organizations that align their holiday practices with industry standards not only enhance employee satisfaction but also strengthen their ability to attract and retain top talent.”
