Stronger Together

Last week we announced to our members that the Employers Association of West Michigan (EA) will merge into the American Society of Employers (ASE) effective January 1, 2024. This is an important milestone for our organization, and we believe it will bring numerous benefits to all of our members.

With this merger, we have joined forces with another employer association that shares our values and vision for the future. Together, we will be able to expand our reach, enhance our offerings, and provide even greater value to our over 1,200 member organizations. We will be stronger together.

ASE will now have an office in Muskegon, which will be run by the current EA President & CEO, Lisa Sabourin.  Lisa's new role will be Executive Vice President, West Michigan. This office will support our west Michigan members with in-person roundtables, training & development courses, as well as additional services.

With both companies in existence for over 100 years – ASE began in 1902 and EA began in 1916 – we have risen side-by-side to the everyday challenges and have leaned on each other for decades while serving our members successfully across Michigan. Our diverse teams now come together under one greater cause to reinforce each other's efforts for a better future for our members.

This merger will not disrupt any of the services or benefits ASE members currently enjoy. In fact, we are confident that it will only improve and enhance the member experience. We have already begun integrating our systems and processes to ensure a seamless transition for all members.

We are excited about the opportunities this merger brings, and we are confident that it will enable us to better serve our members and meet their evolving needs.
