Livonia, Mich. ---October 23, 2017 --- The American Society of Employers (ASE), one of the nation’s oldest and largest employer associations, announces a new conference for 2017 – the AA/EEO & Diversity Conference.

The current administration has changed the enforcement priorities by the EEOC and the OFCCP.  At the same time, various states are picking up where the Obama administration left off in terms of compliance and enforcement.  This conference will help clarify the change in enforcement priorities at both the federal and state level as well as the various diversity issues that many employers struggle with.

The conference was announced by Mary E. Corrado, ASE President & CEO.  “Compliance and diversity are issues that our members are strongly invested in, and they remain a priority for organizations across Michigan.   ASE is excited to offer this new conference, which covers practical and legal updates regarding diversity, EEO enforcement, and affirmative action compliance at both the state and federal level,” Corrado said.

Victoria Lipnic, Acting Chair, U.S. Employment Opportunity Commission, will open the conference with a morning plenary.  Commissioner Lipnic will discuss hot button issues currently before the EEOC including pay equity, changing workforce issues such as ADEA and background checks, harassment, and ADA.  She will also present updates on the EEO-1 report and other activities of the Commission.

John Fox, Partner at Fox, Wang & Morgan, P.C., Los Gatos, CA, and a leading national expert in AA/EEO will end the day reviewing OFCCP’s current approach to compliance and providing pointers on how to be proactive in compliance.

Other highlights of the event include the following sessions:
