Last fall Michigan joined just ten other states in legalizing recreational marijuana use. In doing so, the new Michigan law continued to permit employers to prohibit the use of and be under the influence of marijuana in the workplace. However, current drug testing does not report being under the influence of marijuana, only that the person has used marijuana in the recent past. How does an employer respond if they think a worker may be under the influence at work? The answer is to observe behaviors and respond accordingly.
In this highly requested training course, participants will learn how to
- identify behavior that may be indicators of a worker being under the influence of not only marijuana, but also more dangerous substances such as opioids or other legal or illegal drugs.
- properly and legally address the situation.
It will run from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
The cost of this class is $50 for ASE members and $75 for nonmembers.
This class is also available as a Custom Training program that can be brought to your worksite for presentation to Supervisors and Managers.
