Interest Based Bargaining  


Objective: 
Interest Based Bargaining is an alternative style of negotiating that trained negotiators use to achieve positive results for both parties. The purpose of this course is to give participants enough information so that they understand the basic structure of interest based bargaining such that they can determine if it is a style of negotiating that would be appropriate for their organization.

Content:
Upon completion of this course you will:

  • Learn advantages of interest based bargaining (IBB)
  • Learn disadvantages of IBB
  • Understand what the actual structure of the IBB process looks like
  • Understand what principles and research underlie the IBB Structure

Those who are invovled in the negotation process, Owners and Executives who may want to consider whether IBB would be an appropriate style of bargaining for thier representatives to use in upcoming negotations, and Human Resources generalists who want to have a general understanding of alterntive negotiation styles.
