Alternative Dispute Resolution: Introduction  


Objective:
In the workplace today people are experiencing increased levels of conflict while lacking adequate mechanisms to resolve these disputes. The high cost of litigation has resulted in the formation of alternative dispute resolution tools that are now accessible to use within the organization as an effective means of reducing the cost of conflict, and utilizing that conflict as an opportunity for positive organizational change and growth. This course will provide supervisors, managers and HR professionals with a fundamental understanding of conflict in the workplace, and the various types of ADR models and techniques available to organizations. To emphasize the importance of flexibility of design, implementation, utilization and maintenance of an ADR program to work successfully within the existing organizational union and non-union culture.
